DOGGY BISCUITS

DESCRIPTION

Our pets are the four legged family members that we love best.  Nothing says ‘I love you’ like homemade, so why not make some treats for them too? These are just as easy as they read, nothing funny, just mix and bake!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 ½ cups whole wheat flour (substitute regular flour/oats for sensitivities) 
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup beef or chicken stock
  • Optional add-ins: bacon bits, oats, liver powder, wheat germ, shredded cheese

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Combine ingredients
  3. Knead dough until it forms a ball (approximately 3 minutes)
  4. Roll dough until ½ inch thick
  5. Cut into slices or bone shapes (purchase a bone-shaped cookie cutter)
  6. Place dough pieces on lightly greased cookie sheet
  7. Cook 30 minutes or until dry

*Will keep, layered between sheets of wax paper or parchment, in an air-tight container at room temperature, for 1 month
